Starting nursery is an exciting time for all the family. We want children to feel confident, independent and a sense of curiosity when coming to My Little Hive Pre-School. To offer these skills we offer a range of sensory activities and experiences, guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.

Each week we have a different topic that we put together in line with our long term curriculum with a weekly focus on activities that support the curriculum. Each table has a set activity which is adult-led and is appropriate for the child's age.

10:30am - 11:00am: Snack Time

Children wash and dry their hands before being seated at the snack bar. We provide the children with fresh fruits and seasonal vegetables. By trying foods from different cultures the children gain experience of the wider world around them. Snacks are served with a choice of milk or water.

11:00am - 12:00pm: Free Play Indoor/Outdoor

Toys are easily accessible for the children in the nursery. In free play, children use their first hand experiences in life. They are totally in control of their play and have the opportunity to make up the rules as they go along. They have the opportunity to use their imagination, which is unlimited, and to be creative making or utilizing everyday objects as props. They try out new skills and it allows them to make sense of themselves & create relationships with their friends and within their culture.

12:00pm - 12:15pm: Tidy up time/Toileting
